The Lib Dems are committed to tackling Youth unemployment
Gordon Brown's recession has resulted in 1 in 7 young people living in Bradford being out of work and claiming benefits. Bradford's seen a 61% increase in youth unemployment in the last 12 months.
David Ward has launched a major plan to tackle Youth unemployment, working with local people to create real opportunities to get young people into work.
David said, "Bradford's unemployment rate is a shocking 5%, that's higher than the national rate. There are 10 people for every single job that comes available. Young people are being denied a future."
The Liberal Democrats are committed to increasing the number of apprenticeships, and places on university and vocational higher education courses so young people can improve their skills and get qualifications that will help them capitalise when the job market recovers.
