David working for local communities in Parliament
David Ward has been nominated as vice-chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Non-Profit Making Members Clubs. A member of Idle Working Men's Club, he will work to support and improve clubs across the country.
The Club and Institute Union said membership of the Parliamentary Group had dwindled since the General Election and has asked clubs to bolster its ranks by letting MPs see the role they play.
David said: "One of my first actions is going to be to get a list of all the working men's clubs in my constituency and write to them all and ask either to meet them or for them to send me their views on how things can be improved or how we can support them."
