In the first 6 days since David Ward put forward his bill to force the banks to continue offering cheque facilities as long as customers want them, over 500 have joined the campaign.
People across Bradford and the rest of the UK have signed petitions and offered their help to stop the banks abolishing the cheque in 2018.
David said "It has been an amazing response over the past week, I am grateful for all the support but we still have a long way to go".
Over the next few months David will continue to campaign for small businesses, charities, the elderly and the thousands of vulnerable people who rely on cheques. if you would like to help the 'Save Our Cheque' campaign you can sign the petition on this website, or download a pdf version of the petition from the link at the end of this article.
If you live outside of Bradford East don't forget to lobby your MP as David's 'Cheques bill' will be returning to Parliament in June for its second reading.
