Bradford MP, David Ward, has welcomed aspiring leaders from schools across Bradford into Parliament
Promising young people from Carlton Bolling College and Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College joined David in Westminster for a tour of Parliament followed by a Q&A session, as part of leadership course provided by the not-for-profit organisation Common Purpose.
The event was funded by the local regeneration board, Inspired Neighbourhoods, and supported by Mosaic mentors, who accompanied the young people.
The day also included a ride on the London Eye and a visit to a City law firm.
Commenting, David Ward said:
"It was a pleasure to meet so many bright and enthusiastic young people. They are our leaders of the future.
"This day has given the group a chance to find out about the huge range of possibilities which are open to them. I hope it will inspire them to aim high."
Commenting, Claire Bennett, Regional Director for Common Purpose in Yorkshire, said:
"This was a great opportunity for young people from Bradford to meet with their MP in Westminster and to learn more about his work on behalf of their community.
"They heard about how decisions are made, what an MP does and how party politics works. They asked questions about the things that are important to them as young people and challenged David on things they felt need to change."
