Bradford East MP, David Ward, presented a cheque of £1,500 to Sports Campaign Against Racism (SCAR) to fund their work in tackling racism through sport.

SCAR, who are based in Manningham Mills Sports Association on Scotchman Road, recently approached David about supporting them.

Commenting, David said:

"It is vital that we support groups and individuals in Bradford who want to deal with racism in our society which is why I am proud of being able to support SCAR in their work to bring Bradford together through sport."

Commenting, Shazad Parvez, Secretary of SCAR said:

"We are very grateful for David's generous contribution to help us kick start our project. Thanks to David we are better placed to stamp out racism through sport."
