Help for Bradford homes - Cold Weather Payments
As you may be aware, a Cold Weather Payment of £25 per week is made by the Department for Work and Pensions to people on certain benefits. This payment is made automatically when the temperature in their area drops to 0°C or less for an average of 7 days.
The payment is a fixed amount for each week of cold weather. Last winter, 5.2 million individual payments were made worth a total of £129.2 million.
Payments are made automatically to those entitled to them, but people who think they may be entitled but do not receive a payment should contact the Department for Work and Pensions and contact David Ward MP on 01274 458 010 or
To help show the extent and location of these Cold Weather Payment areas a map will be produced. The map for 2011-12 is still available.
