Bradford MP, David Ward, has been asked to co-chair a new cross-party group of MPs looking into innovative routes to regeneration.
The newly formed All Party Parliamentary Group on Regeneration Through Innovation held its first inaugural meeting yesterday where it elected David Ward as its co-chair.
The Group aims to act as a forum to explore and discuss innovative ways of addressing deprivation and social cohesion in our towns and cities.
The Group will produce research, which aims to encourage dialogue in Parliament and influence Government.
Commenting, David Ward said:
"I am delighted to have been asked to co-chair this group, which is of particular relevance in a place like Bradford, where mistakes have been made in past regeneration projects.
We need to look for more innovative ways to address deprivation and social cohesion in Bradford, and find new ways to regenerate run-down areas that give the city a bad image, particularly the city centre."
