Bradford-based volunteers were invited to Parliament to receive awards from MP, David Ward

Dedicated 16-25 year olds, who committed a year to volunteering for Bradford's youth services as part of the VTalentYear programme, have been recognised for their achievements.
After a tour of Parliament they met with David who presented certificates and led a Q&A session. The young people questioned David on a range of topics, including youth services.
Commenting, David Ward said:
"The volunteers are a shining example of what young people can achieve. They are role models to their generation.
Collectively they have worked with over a thousand children and young people in Bradford. It's great to see what a positive contribution they have made to the lives of others."
Commenting, VTalentYear volunteer Sami Mullaney, 22, said:
"We really enjoyed our tour of Parliament, our tour guide was great, and we learnt a lot about the history. It is a beautiful building and we now know more about what MPs do."
VTalentYear volunteer , Jade Nelson, 17, from Holmewood in Bradford, said:
"It was really good to see Parliament for ourselves. It was different from how the media shows it on the news, where they usually show everyone kicking off and rushing around. We saw a different side to it and learnt more about how government works. David Ward was really nice, just like an ordinary person, friendly and outgoing."
Emma Best, 19, from Ravenscliife in Bradford, said
"David Ward is the MP for my area and I was pleased to see how interested he is in youth work. People automatically think that MPs dont care but he listened to us and answered our questions. I think he will consider what we said to him."
