The surprise story tomorrow night will be the Liberal Democrats in Bradford East and across the country.

Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg praised tireless work from activists to deliver a record breaking campaign and reminded voters they faced the "biggest political decision of their lives" on Polling Day.

Liberal Democrats have outlined the six red lines that must be agreed to as part of any coalition negotiations in the next government.

The red lines cover education, the economy, tax, health, public sector pay and the environment.

1. Protecting education funding

Liberal Democrats want to protect per pupil funding from nursery to 19, in real terms, by the end of the parliament.

The Liberal Democrats would insist on investing an extra £8bn in the NHS each year, as well as introducing maximum waiting times for mental health services, as a red line for entering a coalition, Nick Clegg has announced.

Only the Liberal Democrats have committed to a fully-costed plan to deliver the £8bn a year the NHS needs by 2020.

The Financial Times has endorsed the Liberal Democrats as "a responsible partner in government."

In its editorial, the FT reports:

"At this delicate moment, the best outcome would be a continuation of the 2010 coalition between the Conservatives and Lib Dems.

"Mr Clegg's party has proved a responsible partner in government.

Increasing the Personal Tax Allowance will be a red line for the Liberal Democrats in any coalition negotiations, Nick Clegg has announced.

Nick Clegg said the Liberal Democrats would not support a Labour or Conservative Government if they did not commit to raising the income tax threshold.

The deal-breaker comes as millions of people will feel the benefit of the latest rise in the Personal Allowance in their pay-packets, which has delivered a £825 tax cut over the parliament, worth £70 a month.

All school children under the age of 11 will be entitled to free school meals under Liberal Democrat manifesto plans announced today (29 April).

Extending free school meals for seven to 11 year olds will benefit 1.9 million children and save parents around £400 per child a year.

These plans will more than double the offer of free schools meals to all five, six and seven year old pupils delivered by the Liberal Democrats in government.

Liberal Democrat Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has set an economic 'red line' for potential coalition negotiations.

Following on from his commitment on education spending, Nick has called for a 'Stability Budget' within the first 50 days of the next parliament.

Nick outlined clearly that "there will be no deal if there is no stability".

Today (Tuesday 28^th April) David Ward, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Bradford East, visited the outstanding childcare provider Kinder Haven on Sticker Lane to see their excellent facilities. David also discussed Liberal Democrat plans to build on the extra childcare that the Government has provided, to ensure that extra funding is given to our children's education from cradle to college.

Liberal Democrats will not enter a coalition with any party that does not agree to protect education funding, Liberal Democrat Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has said.

By setting education as a red line, any government with the Liberal Democrats must increase spending on nurseries, schools and colleges.

Business leaders, investors and philanthropists have backed the Liberal Democrat green economy vision.

The letter praises the Liberal Democrat record in Government and emphasises the need for them to be part of the next Government. The publication of the letter comes on the same day the Lib Dems unveil their Environment Manifesto.
