Welcome to my website! DW Picture

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. Since being elected as Bradford East's Lib Dem MP in May 2010, I have been kept busier than I ever believed possible. I've spoken to many constituents in my weekly surgeries - covering every possible subject, from apprenticeships to the Odeon cinema. I am grateful to everyone who voted for me in 2010 and I will continue to stand up for the hard-working people of Bradford in Parliament.

This website contains a lot more information about my work, both in Bradford and in Parliament, the campaigns I am involved in, as well as news from the Liberal Democrats across Bradford East.

David Ward MP listening to the views of local people

This year our Big Summer Survey is designed to: directly influence what happens in Government, to help vulnerable people, improve housing and bring jobs and investment to Bradford.

"As an MP, I meet many people who have experienced the care and support services. Some people receive good service, some poor, but the one thing all agree on is that it can be improved. I need your help to do that"
By filling in and returning this survey your voice will be heard right at the heart of Government. David Ward MP will be presenting the results of his survey to Parliament in the autumn. Everyone who replies will be invited to attend a summit in Bradford.

Please help to get Bradford's voice heard in Government and complete the survey today.

As the building work on the new City Park progresses, it is easy to imagine what could have been with a refurbished Odeon, with its magnificent towers, complementing those of the Alhambra.

David Ward said, in a letter published by the Telegraph & Argus, "How great it would have been to have at least kept the towers (as one of the entries in the international design competition proposed) in any new development, but to have had a middle section which could have reflected the park, the pool and City Hall itself.

  • Councillors David Ward, Margaret Chadwick and David Gray
    Article: Mar 27, 2010

The Liberal Democrats do politics differently. We believe that councillors should make a difference by working all year round - not just at election time.

Cllr. David Gray has been working with local residents for speed reduction measures on Idle Road and Bolton Road, and with parents of Poplar Farm School to make the road outside the School safer. David's also been helping residents petition against a waste handling site on Canal Road.

  • David Ward and Nick Clegg
    Article: Mar 26, 2010

Labour MP's have been criticised for voting against help for those who lost out when Gordon Brown abolished the 10p tax rate.
