Liberal Democrat Parliament Candidate, David Ward visited Kinder Haven to see their outstanding early years education and to highlight the Liberal Democrat's commitment to education and childcare.

Today (Tuesday 28th April) David Ward, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Bradford East, visited the outstanding childcare provider Kinder Haven on Sticker Lane to see their excellent facilities. David also discussed Liberal Democrat plans to build on the extra childcare that the Government has provided, to ensure that extra funding is given to our children's education from cradle to college.

In Government, the Liberal Democrats have increased free childcare to 15hours each week for all 3 and 4 year olds and for all disadvantaged 2 year olds in Bradford. This has helped over 5,200 families in Bradford East and 19,500 families across Bradford. The Liberal Democrats are committed to extending this by increasing free childcare from 9months to 4 years of age and safeguarding Education funding.

Commenting David Ward said:

"The early years of a child's life is crucial to their development so it was great to visit Kinder Haven and see their really outstanding facilities.

"The Liberal Democrats in Government have ensured that there is now more childcare and more early years provision in Bradford which has helped over 5,200 families in Bradford East.

"But the Liberal Democrats want to go further and we are the only party to pledge to safeguard and increase funding from cradle to college, making sure that all children in Bradford can get the best start in life.

"Education is crucial and that's why the Liberal Democrats have made Education funding one of our red lines in any negotiations around forming any Government."
